BINDRUNE

This project was a student project where the whole class worked on one game for the entire semester. The class was broken up into game developers, producers, coders, art, and sound.

Bindrune started as a prototype my team, other teams pitched their ideas but after a vote Bindrune was chosen for the whole class to work on as a team. The prototype was created in game maker studio but the main game was created in unity using C#. The class also used github and source tree to handle multiple people working on the same game. Some other tools we used included slack and discord to communicate and trello to keep track of progress. Each week in class we also had stand up meeting to talk about progress made in the past week, what was planned for next week and any problems we had

I was a part of the coding team, there were seven people working on the code for the game and those seven were split up into two different teams. I was tasked with taking the sprites and sprite sheets that the art team created and placing them in game hooking up all the animations for when the player and enemies were idle, walking, attacking, and dying.  I also took the sounds that the sound team created and placed them in the game making sure they played at the correct times. Another thing I worked on was one of the enemy AI getting it to engage the player when he was in range and attack when he was in attack range. In the end we had one large lava maze level created which included many different environment hazards, enemies, and 5 different spells the player could collect and use.
